CARBON: Carbon dioxide is the gas that causes global warming. It makes the Earth hot the same way a car gets hot when it’s in the sun. We put carbon dioxide into the atmosphere with almost everything we do, including driving and using electricity. We’re going to have to be much more careful about carbon dioxide, or else the Earth will become too warm.
In Canada, supporting your lifestyle requires 4.4 earths. Your daily decisions require the support of 2.3 earths.

My Findings-
I found that in the first calculator I completed, I found I was less than the average Canadian, and in the second calculator, at bp.com, i used 10.3 tonnes of CO 2 per year. As for the kids calculator I used i was way over the average. The average is 8.2, yet i was 11. Yet I used less trees, and a smaller amount of land.

REPORT-
Absract- I seem to be a 'less than average' contributor to the CO2 levels in our atmosphere according to the [Safe climate] calculator.
- the safe climate calculator shows that 44% of my CO2 is from home energy and 56% from transportation.
- the bp.com calculator shows that 63% of my contribution of CO2 is for personal travel, 5% is waste, and 32% is household energy
- the bp.com calculator states that my total contribution of CO2 is 10.3 tonnes per year. As an average.
-from looking at the relations of each of the three calculators I completed, i seem to be about average. I think this because the Kids Calculator shows that i am above the Canadian average, but the safe climate calculator says that I am less than the average. The only problem with these stats is that i don't know what the average they are comparing my contributions is to. For example... it does not state whether the average is Canadian or a world average. This is an important point because this makes it hard to make comparisons between all of the calculators I completed.
-in this essay, I will explain how I feel about the results of the calculators I completed.
-I will also describe how I think I can change the way I live after finding the results of these calculators.
-I will also, in the results section of my essay, describe how I feel that my daily activities effect my overall carbon footprint.
- In this essay, I will also describe how I feel about the results in the graphs I included in this essay.
- It seemed that my larger consumptions were my large use of trees and my larger land use.

If this keeps continuing with the population of our world, our world will all come crashing down. After completing three Caarbon Footprint calculators, I found that I actually produced a very large carbon footprint. And I also discovered that it is very hard to change habits that have been routine for me for the past fourteen years. It would be better for the children born in this generation to make saving our world routine for them, to help our planet gradually repare itself.
MY REPORT SO FAR- Abstract In this report I will describe my findings from completing three Carbon Footprint calculators, and how my daily activities effect my contributions to the world’s carbon emissions. My findings showed by completing the Kids Carbon Footprint Calculator showed me that most of my contributions are what I throw away, and activities related to home and school, such as using a bus to get to school, how many loads of laundry I do in a week and how I use my home resources. After I completed the carbon calculator at bp.com, I found that my average carbon use was 10.3 tonnes of CO2 per year, with the Toronto average per person is 8.6 tonnes per year, which surprised me because I do not live in an industrialized area like Toronto. But I also do not have the ease of public transportation, and I am not able to walk if I want to travel anywhere. The last calculator I completed was a [Safe Climate] Carbon Calculator; this calculator showed that I use approximately 912 lbs. of carbon per month. To compare that to my other findings I multiplied 912 lbs. by twelve to find my carbon per year according to this calculator, my amount of carbon per year in lbs. is -10, 944 lbs per year, which is 11.1 tonnes of CO2 per year. Which is described to be ‘less than average’ , the findings from completing this calculator stated that 44% of my CO2 is for home energy, and 56% is from transportation.

While reading about CO2 and completing multiple Carbon Footprint Calculators, I found that I was approximately average, or more than average when comparing all of the calculator results. This makes me confident that I am not contributing a larger amount more than most people, but i still want to try to reduce my Carbon Footprint to less then 5 tonnes, or maybe even less.
